Luis A. Mendez was once told by his grandmother to sit down and write down all the ideas he had going through his head, and although that's a dangerous proposition for some, and it took a while for him to listen to her advice, he eventually started doing just that. He's currently working on his first novel after writing a few short stories online. His style of storytelling tends to focus on putting everyday people into fantastical and supernatural situations. He's also written non-fiction articles covering film criticism and psephology analysis of U.S and UK elections on other different platforms. In these non-fiction writings, he uses his his love of film and his enthusiasm for studying public opinion and electoral trends to deliver a straight to the point article that won't put the reader (or at least that's the plan) to sleep. He also curates a Substack newsletter, The Cinephile Cafe, where he writes weekly reviews of the newest films. He's an active member of Letterboxd where he creates lists of essential and great films; not to mention he also takes part in voting for the Gold Derby film awards - and handles his own "Best Films of the Year" list which he publishes. Luis is a proud Floridian who roots for the Bucs, Rays, Heat, and Bolts - and prefers Bourbon as his drink of choice.
